Jane’s specialist areas of practice are commercial, property, trust, employment and civil litigation
Jane has experience in all areas of commercial law including drafting and reviewing commercial contracts such as solus agreements, shareholder and joint venture agreements, sale and purchases of businesses such as franchises and supermarkets, advising structure for business entities and asset protection, sale and purchases of commercial property, company law and commercial leases. Jane is also a very experienced property lawyer and is a member of the Property Law Section of the New Zealand Law Society.
In addition to commercial and property law work, Jane also practices in the area of trusts, wills and employment litigation.
Jane also undertakes civil litigation work. She has defended directors in proceedings issued by liquidators, acted for a creditor who successfully opposed an insolvent’s proposal to creditors, acted for a client in an appeal of a decision in the client’s favour from a tribunal, acted for clients in proceedings under the Fair Trading Act, multi-party negligence claims, opposing pre-commencement discovery and cancellation of lease under the Property Law Act. Jane’s litigation work also includes settlement negotiations between the parties or judge-assisted settlements.
Jane has recently begun volunteering at the Remuera Citizens Advice Bureau.
Jane is a member of the Rotary Club of St Johns in Auckland.
